Lightning Impact

An effect created using Unity3D’s particle system as part of a personal project to create one visual effect per day.
The effect was designed to be a sort of stylized magical electricity impact effect with a gradual buildup, leaving a glowing crack in the ground.

Two sets of smaller sparks: One burst of small particles at the moment of impact, and another set of flickering particles which ramps up and continues throughout the effect.
Smaller arcs around the impact point created by adding erratic noise-controled velocity to particles with ribbon trails enabled.
